The BCCH scan captures all data transmitted on the forward BCCH channel. This is displayed as a tree structure and any message can be expanded by clicking on the [+] next to it to examine in detail the data contained within an individual transmission. This allows for easy analysis of the data being used by all phones to understand the base station configuration.
Selecting a message in the layer 3 window will synchronise the layer 2 window to the same message.
